Fishermen
from all along the Atlantic coast are heading to New Bern, NC for The
21st Annual North Carolina Commercial Fishing Show, Saturday, Feb. 24
through Sunday, Feb. 25. The beautiful New Bern Riverfront Convention
Center will play host to the largest group of vendors and speakers since
the show's inception in 1981.
Admission
to the two-day event is $5 for adults and children 16 and under are
admitted free. Vendors on hand for the event will have the latest
and best commercial fishing items including Gear, Boats, Engines and
Generators, Packaging, Electronics, Refrigeration, Foul Weather Gear,
Fishing Supplies and more!
Visitors
to the 21st Annual North Carolina Fishing Show can also learn about the
fisheries while catching up on all the great commercial fishing
technology. Educational presentations, children's events and seminars,
co-sponsored by North Carolina Sea Grant and the North Carolina
Fisheries Assoc. (NCFA), have been scheduled to peek a wide range of
fisheries interests. The daylong series of seminars is included in the
price of admission. Beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, forums will
cover topics ranging from the constitutional rights of fishermen to
marine safety.

Sea Grant and NCFA are co-sponsoring a reception Saturday, Feb. 24 at
6:15 p.m. at the Sheraton Grand - New Bern. The reception will celebrate
both the 21st year of the show itself and Sea Grant's 25th anniversary.
The reception is expected to draw commercial fishing industry leaders as
well as local and state dignitaries.
