Fishing Vessel Safety Exams Available on Weekends

Commercial Fishing Vessel Safety Exams (CFVSE) can now be scheduled and conducted on weekends!

Coast Guard Reserve Examiners, assigned to the Marine Safety Team (MST) located at Fort Macon, can conduct these exams on any commercial fishing vessel located in an area bounded by Morehead City/Beaufort, Swansboro, New Bern, Washington, Belhaven, Swan Quarter, and Cedar Island.

Currently, there are qualified CFVSE Examiners covering the fourth weekend of each month.

As more CG Reserve Examiners become qualified, all weekends will soon be available for these examinations.

As usual, these exams are free, non-punitive, and ensure your vessel meets federal safety regulations. Please call 252-247-4501 to schedule your exam!

More Good News!
A permanent Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiner will soon be based at Fort Macon! Further details on this very important development will be provided as they become available. Please call 252-247-4501 if you have any questions.
