Put up... Or Shut Up!

By Jerry Schill, President of the North Carolina Fisheries

All fish dealers and processors should have received a couple of letters via first class mail. The first letter is from me and the second is from NCFA Chairman, Billy Carl Tillett. All holders of a Standard Commercial Fishing License will also be getting a copy of Billy Carl's letter and a membership application. The subject is support of the North Carolina Fisheries Association. The message does not pertain to many of you who are already supporters of this organization.

It's a sorry state indeed if you are a commercial fisherman, (or dealer), and are NOT a member of this organization.
If you are involved in the commercial fishing industry and do not support NCFA or some other commercial fishing trade group, there's only a couple of reasons. You're either darn stupid or too cheap. Maybe it's a combination of the two.
Wake up!

If you're late in paying your dues, pay up!

If you're not a member, join!

If you ARE a member, thank you! If you are a member of our HIGHLINER'S CLUB, a triple note of gratitude! For you members who are not members of the HIGHLINER'S CLUB, please give it every consideration for the future of your way of life.

Quit being a part of the problem and become part of the solution. If you're not a member of a commercial fishing trade group, you may as well be a member of an ANTI commercial fishing group. By not supporting your own trade association, you only help those who would take your heritage away from you.

The time for apathy, laziness, or disinterest is over.
Put up. Or shut up.
